Things To Consider
*  Your personal belongings will need to be moved to a safe place prior to
start date. Many clients rent a storage unit. Construction is dusty.

*  Your front & back yards are often used during construction. You may
need to clear away plants, furniture and other items to protect them.

*  If your collecting estimates for sub-contractors on your own, get three
and a referral. When you pick the sub-contractors you will be in charge of
them.

*  Consider Holidays into your time line.

*  You may need to rent another home or con your relatives to staying with
them. This depends on the scope of the job.

*  When choosing your appliances make sure the size meets your needs and
fits into your plan. Save those spec sheets for our builders.

* Find interiors that you like in magazines and start collecting pictures in a file.
You can refer to them, use them to inspire other ideas.

*  Design choices are the main thing that holds back the job. If you don’t
feel confident, get an Interior Designer or Consultant ahead of time.

*  The crew will help you as much as possible. These decisions will include, tile,
fixtures, paint, knobs, hardware, floor covering, plumbing, windows, doors,
cabinets, electrical etc…. If you pick stock items you wont have to wait for
any pieces on order. Say you need one more than you thought? However
without an Interior Designer you will be responsible for all decisions that are
not standard building procedures that result in a change order.

*  Paint colors will look different than in the store. You may need to test
many colors before you find the one you like. This takes time so plan ahead.

*  Begin gathering samples of tile, granite, carpet and color. See what's out
there and start collecting your design ideas ASAP.

*  Measure the furniture you are keeping, make sure it will fit in your new
space.

*  You may want to have a closet company redesign your closet space.

*  Keep in mind that there are always expenses after the construction is
complete, like, window treatments, landscaping and fencing that you should
budget for ahead of time.
